Library Book Due Calendar in Excel is a macro-enabled workbook that keeps every return date, hold deadline and reading event in one Events table and shows it four ways: Annual View, Monthly View, Daily View and This Month. It ships with 100 sample events spread over January to December 2026, 8 to 9 events per month, across 7 library locations such as the Circulation Desk, Digital Media Lab and Children’s Wing.

Every sample row was checked before release: the IDs run from 1 to 100 with no gaps, no two events share a date, and the stored weekday matches the calendar date on all 100 rows. Replace the sample events with your own and the calendar views follow.

🔑 Key Features of the Library Book Due Calendar in Excel

  • 📅 Four views from one table. Annual View, Monthly View, Daily View and This Month all read the same Events sheet, so a due date entered once appears in every view without copying it between tabs.
  • 🗓️ Annual View. All 12 month grids of the selected year sit on one page, and every date that carries an event is shaded, so busy return weeks stand out at a glance.
  • 📆 Monthly View. Choose a month and a year and the grid rebuilds with the event name written inside each day cell, for example Fiction Titles Due on Friday 2 January 2026.
  • 📋 Daily View. Enter a start date and an end date to list every event in that range with its ID, date, day, event name, time, location and description.
  • 📊 This Month summary. Four counters (Events This Month, Active Days, Locations Used, Next 7 Days), an Events by Day of Week table, a Top 5 Locations table and the full event list for the month.
  • 📝 Event form. Add New Event opens a form with a date picker, an automatic Day field, a time picker, Event Name, Location and Description. The Events sheet adds Update Record and Delete Record buttons.
  • ⚙️ Setting sheet. Set the year, the starting month, the first day of the week, up to two highlighted weekdays and whether event dates are highlighted.
  • 📚 Library sample data. 28 event names including eBook Loan Expiry, Interlibrary Loan Due, Hold Pickup Deadline, Renewal Window Opens, Grace Period Ends and World Book Day Loans Due.

👥 Who This Template Is For — and Who It’s Not For

✅ This template is built for:

  • School librarians and library assistants who want one visual calendar of return days, hold deadlines and reading events.
  • Small community, club, church or office libraries that manage loans on paper or a simple register.
  • Teachers running a classroom library and reading-programme coordinators planning a year of events.

❌ This template is NOT for:

  • Libraries that need circulation: borrower accounts, per-item checkouts, barcode or ISBN scanning, automatic overdue detection or fine calculation.
  • Teams working on a Mac, in Excel for the web or on phones, because the forms and refresh steps run on VBA macros.
  • Anyone who needs email or SMS reminders; the workbook has no notifications.

💼 Real-World Use Cases

Priya runs a secondary school library with two part-time assistants. She enters fiction, non-fiction and reference due dates for each term, uses Monthly View on the staff noticeboard, and checks This Month every Monday to see how many returns fall in the next seven days.

Daniel volunteers at a community library open four days a week. He logs hold pickup deadlines, interlibrary loan returns and book club return days, then filters Daily View by week so the volunteer on duty knows what to expect at the desk.

Maria coordinates a summer reading programme. She plans kickoff, themed return days and the year-end fine clearance on Annual View, spotting crowded weeks before she publishes dates to families.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What does the library due date calendar include?

The Library Book Due Calendar in Excel includes Annual View, Monthly View, Daily View, This Month, an Events table, a Setting sheet and an Add New Event form. It comes with 100 fictional sample events for 2026 across 7 locations and a user manual PDF inside the zip file.

Does it work on Mac, Excel for the web or mobile?

No. The calendar is built for Microsoft Excel desktop on Windows. The event form, record buttons and the Daily View and This Month refresh run on VBA macros, which Excel for Mac, Excel for the web and the mobile apps do not fully support. Macros must be enabled when the file opens.

Is this a library management or circulation system?

No. It is a date calendar, not a library or student information system. There are no borrower accounts, no per-book checkout records, no barcode or ISBN lookup, no automatic overdue detection and no fine calculation. Pair it with a separate issue register if you need those records.

Can it send overdue or due-date reminders?

No. The workbook has no email, SMS or pop-up notifications. The This Month sheet shows a Next 7 Days count and the Daily View lists any date range you choose, so staff can review upcoming returns manually each day or week.

How long does setup take?

About 15 minutes. Choose the year and week start on the Setting sheet, clear or overwrite the sample rows, and add your own events through the form. Each event needs a date, time, event name, location and a short description.

Does the sample data contain real borrowers or students?

No. All 100 sample events are fictional and contain no borrower or student names. If you add personal details, you are responsible for how that data is stored and shared. The workbook makes no data-protection or compliance claim.

Frequently asked questions

Which Excel version do I need?
Microsoft Excel 2016 or later on desktop (Microsoft 365 recommended). Many of our formula templates also open in Excel 2013 and Excel for the web - the exact requirement is listed in this product's description.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes. Formula-based Excel templates (no macros) work in Excel for Mac 2016 or later.
Does it work on mobile or Excel Online?
You can view it in the Excel mobile app and Excel for the web, but for entering data, using slicers and refreshing pivots we recommend desktop Excel.
How do I add my own data?
Replace the sample rows on the data sheet with your own (keep the column headers), then click Data > Refresh All so every chart and pivot updates.
Some sheets are protected - how do I edit them or change the logo?
A few of our trackers, data entry systems and dashboards protect sheets so formulas are not overwritten by mistake. Go to Review > Unprotect Sheet - most have no password. If Excel asks for one, message us with your order number and we will share it straight away.
How many records can it handle?
It has been tested with several thousand rows and suits normal small-business volumes. Excel itself handles over 1 million rows.
Is it a one-time payment or a subscription?
One-time payment. No subscription, no per-user fees and nothing to renew - the file is yours to keep.
How do I get the file after payment?
Instantly. The download link appears on screen after checkout, is emailed to you, and stays under My Account > Downloads on our website. If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or promotions folder.
Is a user manual included?
Most of our newer products include a PDF user manual in the download. If yours does not have one, message us with your order number and we will send it.
Do I get free updates?
Bug fixes are always free - if something does not work as described, we fix it and send you the corrected file. New versions with new features are not included in the price, unless this product's description says otherwise.
Can you customise it for me?
Yes. Small changes to this template (your columns, categories, logo, colours, minor layout) cost the template price plus $40-80 (Rs 3,000-6,000 + GST), quoted once you send your list. A fully custom build is usually $100-200 (Rs 8,000-18,000 + GST) with two revision rounds. Email your requirements to [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp.
Can I use it for my business or my clients?
Yes, for your own personal or internal business use, for as long as you like. Reselling or redistributing the template is not allowed.
What is your refund policy?
Because these are digital downloads, they are non-refundable once delivered - except when the product does not match its description (report it within 48 hours of purchase) or there is a technical problem our team cannot fix within 72 hours. Email [email protected] with your order number.
How do I get help?
Email [email protected] (Mon-Fri, 10 AM-7 PM IST) or message us on WhatsApp +91 80770 90260 (chat only, no calls). Please include your order number.
