What’s Inside the Recycling Infrastructure Dashboard in Excel

1 – Overview Page

The Overview page is the first sheet for high-level review. It shows Total Waste Tonnage, Total Recycled Tonnage, Total Collection Cost, Total Emissions Avoided, and Avg. Facility Rating in top cards so leaders can understand recycling scale, cost, impact, and service quality at a glance.

Total Recycled Tonnage by Region: This chart compares recycled tonnage across regions. It helps users identify which areas contribute the most recovered material and where recycling output may need attention.

Total Collection Cost vs Total Processing Cost by Infrastructure Type: This chart compares the two major cost groups by infrastructure type. It helps teams see whether cost pressure is coming from collection, processing, or a specific asset group.

Recycling Rate % by Month: This trend shows how recycling rate changes month by month. It helps managers spot seasonal movement, improvements, or periods where diversion performance drops.

Total Recycled Tonnage by Material Stream: This chart compares recycled tonnage by material stream. It shows which streams drive the most volume and where stream-level recovery may need improvement.

2 – Material Flow

The Material Flow sheet focuses on tonnage movement and recycling efficiency. It helps analysts compare material streams, facilities, regions, processing cost, collection cost, and emissions avoided.

Recycling Rate % by Material Stream: This chart compares recycling efficiency across material streams. It helps identify which streams perform well and which need better sorting, collection, or processing action.

Total Waste Tonnage by Facility: This chart compares waste tonnage handled by each facility. It helps teams understand facility workload and where capacity or process review may be required.

Total Processing Cost vs Total Collection Cost by Region: This chart compares major cost groups by region. It helps regional managers see whether cost differences are driven by collection routes or processing operations.

Total Emissions Avoided by Region: This chart compares avoided emissions by region. It helps sustainability teams communicate environmental benefit alongside operational performance.

3 – Cost Analysis

The Cost Analysis sheet helps finance and operations teams review cost drivers. It includes analysis by operator, funding source, project status, and infrastructure type.

Total Processing Cost by Operator: This chart compares processing cost across operators. It helps identify operators with higher cost exposure and supports vendor or contract review.

Total Collection Cost by Funding Source: This chart shows collection cost grouped by funding source. It helps finance teams understand which funding streams support collection activity.

Total Records by Status: This chart counts records by status. It gives a quick view of active, delayed, planned, completed, or other operational states.

Cost Per Tonne by Infrastructure Type: This chart compares unit cost by infrastructure type. It helps reveal which infrastructure groups are more expensive per tonne handled.

4 – Project Status

The Project Status sheet supports infrastructure delivery review. It focuses on operational projects, delayed projects, priority, facility rating, and municipality-level operational rate.

Operational Projects by Project Phase: This chart shows operational projects by phase. It helps project teams see where working assets sit across the project lifecycle.

Delayed Projects by Priority: This chart groups delayed projects by priority. It helps managers focus attention on the highest-impact delays first.

Avg. Facility Rating by Facility: This chart compares average rating by facility. It helps highlight facilities with strong or weak performance scores.

Operational Rate % by Municipality: This chart compares operational performance across municipalities. It helps local teams identify where infrastructure readiness is strong or lagging.

5 – Facility Ops

The Facility Ops sheet is designed for recurring operational review. It compares operator recycling rate, yearly recycled tonnage, monthly collection cost, and funding source records.

Recycling Rate % by Operator: This chart compares recycling performance by operator. It helps management see which operators deliver stronger diversion results.

Total Recycled Tonnage by Year: This chart shows recycled tonnage across years. It helps teams review long-term recovery growth or decline.

Total Collection Cost by Month: This trend compares collection cost across months. It helps identify cost spikes, seasonal pressure, or route-related changes.

Total Records by Funding Source: This chart shows how records are distributed by funding source. It helps review the funding mix behind recycling infrastructure activity.

Frequently asked questions

Which Excel version do I need?
Microsoft Excel 2016 or later on desktop (Microsoft 365 recommended). Many of our formula templates also open in Excel 2013 and Excel for the web - the exact requirement is listed in this product's description.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes. Formula-based Excel templates (no macros) work in Excel for Mac 2016 or later.
Does it work on mobile or Excel Online?
You can view it in the Excel mobile app and Excel for the web, but for entering data, using slicers and refreshing pivots we recommend desktop Excel.
How do I add my own data?
Replace the sample rows on the data sheet with your own (keep the column headers), then click Data > Refresh All so every chart and pivot updates.
Some sheets are protected - how do I edit them or change the logo?
A few of our trackers, data entry systems and dashboards protect sheets so formulas are not overwritten by mistake. Go to Review > Unprotect Sheet - most have no password. If Excel asks for one, message us with your order number and we will share it straight away.
How many records can it handle?
It has been tested with several thousand rows and suits normal small-business volumes. Excel itself handles over 1 million rows.
Is it a one-time payment or a subscription?
One-time payment. No subscription, no per-user fees and nothing to renew - the file is yours to keep.
How do I get the file after payment?
Instantly. The download link appears on screen after checkout, is emailed to you, and stays under My Account > Downloads on our website. If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or promotions folder.
Is a user manual included?
Most of our newer products include a PDF user manual in the download. If yours does not have one, message us with your order number and we will send it.
Do I get free updates?
Bug fixes are always free - if something does not work as described, we fix it and send you the corrected file. New versions with new features are not included in the price, unless this product's description says otherwise.
Can you customise it for me?
Yes. Small changes to this template (your columns, categories, logo, colours, minor layout) cost the template price plus $40-80 (Rs 3,000-6,000 + GST), quoted once you send your list. A fully custom build is usually $100-200 (Rs 8,000-18,000 + GST) with two revision rounds. Email your requirements to [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp.
Can I use it for my business or my clients?
Yes, for your own personal or internal business use, for as long as you like. Reselling or redistributing the template is not allowed.
What is your refund policy?
Because these are digital downloads, they are non-refundable once delivered - except when the product does not match its description (report it within 48 hours of purchase) or there is a technical problem our team cannot fix within 72 hours. Email [email protected] with your order number.
How do I get help?
