The honest summary: telematics software tells you where a vehicle is right now. This dashboard tells you what your trips earned, which depots and service lines carry the business, and where delays cluster. They answer different questions, and plenty of operators need only the second one.
Who This Template Is For – and Who It’s Not For
A good fit if you run a multi-depot transport, coach, courier or freight operation with somewhere between a handful and a few hundred trips a month; already keep trip records in a sheet or can export them from a booking system; want revenue, distance, driver and contract-tier analysis without paying per vehicle; or need something a dispatcher can open on a phone at a depot.
Not a good fit if you need live GPS tracking, geofencing or ELD compliance – those need telematics hardware this cannot replace. It is also the wrong tool if you are logging more than a few thousand trips a month (a database will serve you better), if you need automated invoicing rather than revenue reporting, or if your finance team requires an audited accounting ledger. Does this track vehicles by GPS?
No. It analyses the trip records you enter or import. For live location you need telematics hardware, which is a separate class of product.
Can I use it in Excel instead?
