The Pest Control Business KPI Scorecard in Excel puts ten pest-control metrics, a month picker and a traffic light on one screen, so a branch review takes minutes instead of an evening in a pivot table. The sample month shipped in the file (Jul-2025) scores 4 Green, 4 Amber and 2 Red across four KPI groups, with Treatments Completed at 103.0% of target and New Contracts Signed at 84.9% – the exact pattern a route manager needs to see before the Monday call. It is 100% formulas: no macros, no Power Query, no add-ins, and it opens on any Excel from 2016 onward. Instant download, one-time payment, no subscription, and a user manual PDF ships inside the same ZIP.

Key Features of the Pest Control Business KPI Scorecard in Excel
- Ten pest-control KPIs already written in – Treatments Completed, On-Time Arrival %, Technician Utilisation, Avg Response Time, First-Visit Resolution %, Callback Rate %, Inspection Pass Rate %, New Contracts Signed, Plan Retention % and Revenue per Treatment.
- Four KPI groups – Operations (4 KPIs), Service Quality (3), Sales & Growth (2) and Finance (1). The grouping drives the achievement table on the KPI Analysis page.
- Month picker with an MTD / YTD switch – pick Jan-2025 through Dec-2025 from the header drop-down and flip the whole scorecard between the month and the year to date.
- Three comparison bases – measure Actual against Target, against the same month last year (PY), or against the Prior Month, from one drop-down.
- Direction-aware traffic lights – eight Upper-the-Better KPIs and two Lower-the-Better ones (Avg Response Time and Callback Rate %), so a rising callback rate goes red instead of green.
- A 12-month sparkline on every tile – value, target, absolute change, percentage change and the shape of the year, in one card.
- KPI Analysis page – achievement by group, a Green / Amber / Red count, and Top 5 / Bottom 5 KPIs ranked for the selected month.
- KPI Trend page – four charts for whichever KPI you pick: MTD vs Target, MTD vs PY, YTD vs Target and YTD vs PY.
- Editable RAG bands – Green, Amber and Red thresholds live in six cells on Color Settings and every page follows them.
- Room for 20 KPIs – ten are filled with pest-control metrics; add your own on the next free row and use the KPI 1-10 / 11-20 picker to switch sets.
What’s Inside the Pest Control Business KPI Scorecard in Excel
The workbook ships with nine tabs you use plus two hidden calculation sheets that carry the formulas.
- Home – a navigation page with a one-line description of every tab.
- Scorecard – the tile wall. Ten cards, each with the traffic light, the value, the target, the change, the percentage change with a coloured arrow, and the 12-month sparkline.
- KPI Analysis – Achievement by KPI Group as a table and a column chart, the RAG counts, and the Top 5 / Bottom 5 tables. In the sample month Service Quality leads on 99.6% and Sales & Growth trails on 91.7%.
- KPI Trend – choose a KPI from the drop-down; its group, unit, direction, formula and definition appear above four charts covering MTD and YTD against both Target and last year.
- Input Data – twenty numbered blocks, one per KPI slot, each holding twelve months of MTD Actual / Target / PY and YTD Actual / Target / PY. This is the only sheet with numbers you type.
- KPI Definition – name, group, unit, formula, plain-English definition, direction (UTB / LTB), YTD basis and a duplicate-name Check column for each KPI.
- Color Settings – the RAG bands for both directions, plus the report title and the reporting year that feeds the month picker.
- Read Me – nine short sections covering what you type, why YTD is yours to supply, UTB vs LTB, the traffic lights, adding a KPI, unique names, the header controls and the reporting year.

Also available as the Pest Control Business KPI Scorecard in Google Sheets. The two are not the same file ported between tools – they are separate builds with different metric sets. This Excel edition measures Treatments Completed, Avg Response Time, Inspection Pass Rate % and New Contracts Signed; the Sheets edition measures Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), Customer Churn Rate, Gross Profit Margin and Pesticide Compliance Incidents instead, and groups its KPIs as Service Delivery / Customer Experience / Financial Performance / Operations & Compliance. Not one of the twenty KPI names is shared. Buy the one whose metric list matches how you already report – or both, if you want the operational view and the compliance view side by side.
Who This Template Is For – and Who It’s Not For
It is for you if you run a pest-control company between one and forty technicians, you already know your monthly numbers, and what you are missing is a page that turns them into a red/amber/green conversation. It suits owner-operators, branch managers, service managers and franchisees who report to a head office on a monthly cycle.
It is not for you if you want the workbook to pull data out of Jobber, ServiceTitan, PestPac or FieldRoutes – it has no connectors and no Power Query; you type or paste the monthly figures. It is not a scheduling, dispatch or route-planning tool, it does not track individual jobs or customers, and it is not a pesticide-application or regulatory recordkeeping system. If you want per-job, per-technician and per-city analysis with slicers, the Pest Control Dashboard in Excel is the pivot-driven product for that – this scorecard is the one-page monthly summary that sits above it.
How to Use the Pest Control Business KPI Scorecard in Excel
- Unzip and open the .xlsx. There is nothing to enable – no macros, no add-ins, no external links.
- Set your title and year on Color Settings. The reporting year feeds the month picker, so it reads Jul-2025 rather than a bare Jul.
- Rename the KPIs on KPI Definition if the shipped ten are not yours. Fill the group, unit, formula, definition, direction (UTB or LTB) and YTD basis. The Check column flags a duplicate name, which matters because every page looks a KPI up by name.
- Type your numbers on Input Data. Each KPI has its own numbered block with twelve months of MTD Actual, Target and PY, and the same three for YTD. You supply YTD yourself – the right roll-up is a sum for volumes like Treatments Completed and an average for rates like On-Time Arrival %.
- Drive the Scorecard from the header. Pick the month, choose MTD or YTD, and set Vs. to Target, PY or Prior Month. All ten tiles, both other pages and every arrow follow.
- Tune the thresholds if you need to. Change the six cells on Color Settings – by default Green is at or above the comparison value, Amber is within 10%, Red is more than 10% off.
- Read the story on KPI Analysis, then drill on KPI Trend. The Bottom 5 table tells you what to open first; the trend page shows whether it is a bad month or a bad year.
Real-World Use Cases
Marcus, owner of a nine-technician residential pest business. He closes the month, types twelve numbers into six blocks, and looks at one page. In the sample month the file ships with, Avg Response Time is red at 3.1 hours against a 2.7-hour target while Treatments Completed is green at 1,649 – the crew is doing more jobs but taking longer to get to them. That is a staffing conversation, and it took ninety seconds to find.
Priya, service manager for a three-branch commercial operator. Each branch keeps its own copy of the workbook with the same ten KPIs and the same RAG bands, so the group achievement figures are comparable across branches. She flips Vs. to Prior Month before the branch call and to PY before the quarterly board pack, without rebuilding anything.
Dan, a franchisee reporting upward. Head office wants Plan Retention % and New Contracts Signed every month with a target and a variance. He types them once, exports the Scorecard page to PDF, and the traffic lights do the explaining.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Excel versions does this work in?
Excel 2016 and later on Windows and Mac, and Excel for Microsoft 365. The workbook is formulas, conditional formatting, camera pictures and sparklines only. There are no macros, so there is no security prompt and nothing to trust.
Can I change the KPIs to my own?
Yes. Every KPI is renamed on KPI Definition and every page reads the name from there. Ten slots are filled with pest-control metrics and ten more are empty, up to twenty in total. The Scorecard shows ten at a time – use the KPI 1-10 / 11-20 picker in the header to switch sets.
Does it connect to Jobber, ServiceTitan, PestPac or FieldRoutes?
No. There are no connectors, no Power Query and no API. You type or paste your monthly MTD and YTD figures onto Input Data. That is deliberate – it keeps the file offline, portable and free of refresh errors, and it means the file works the same on any machine.
Why do I have to type YTD as well as MTD?
Because the correct year-to-date roll-up is different per KPI. Treatments Completed and New Contracts Signed sum; On-Time Arrival % and Revenue per Treatment average; some businesses weight theirs. The workbook does not guess – you enter the figure and note the rule you used in the YTD Basis column so the next person fills it the same way.
How do the traffic lights decide green, amber and red?
By variance against whatever you are comparing to. Green is at or above the comparison value, Amber is within 10% of it, and Red is more than 10% off. For a Lower-the-Better KPI such as Callback Rate % the test inverts, so a lower number is the good one. All six thresholds are editable on Color Settings, and a KPI with a blank or zero comparison value reads n/a rather than guessing.
What exactly do I download?
One ZIP containing the .xlsx workbook and the Excel KPI Scorecard user manual PDF. The download link is available immediately after checkout.
Is this the same as your Pest Control Dashboard or your KPI Dashboards?
No – NextGenTemplates ships three related but different families. This is a KPI Scorecard: one page, ten named KPIs, a month picker and traffic lights. The Pest Control Dashboard in Excel is an analytical dashboard – five pages, pivot tables, slicers and sixteen-plus charts, filtered by region, technician and service type. The KPI Dashboard family sits between them. They complement each other; none of them replaces another.
