Fast Fashion Brands KPI Dashboard in Excel scorecard showing 13 KPIs with MTD and YTD status for September 2025

Key Features of the Fast Fashion Brands KPI Dashboard in Excel

  • One dropdown drives the whole scorecard. Pick a month in cell D6 on KPI Dashboard and all 13 rows plus the seven summary cards recalculate – MTD actual, target, achievement, status, prior year and vs PY, then the same again for YTD.
  • Direction-aware scoring (UTB / LTB). Each KPI is flagged Upper-The-Better or Lower-The-Better on KPI Definition. Achievement is Actual divided by Target for UTB and Target divided by Actual for LTB, so cutting Design-to-Shelf Lead Time to 23.52 days against a 24.78-day target scores 105.4% instead of looking like a shortfall.
  • Traffic lights you control. On Target from 100%, At Risk 95% to 99%, Missed below 95%. The thresholds sit in the formulas in columns L and U on the scorecard – edit them to match your own governance.
  • Seven summary cards: Total KPIs Tracked, On Target (YTD), At Risk (YTD), Missed (YTD), Improving vs PY (MTD), Avg Achievement (MTD) and Avg Achievement (YTD). The sample month reads 13 / 8 / 2 / 3 / 7 of 13 / 97.7% / 99.1%.
  • A KPI Trend page for any single KPI. Choose a KPI in cell B4 and its attribute strip, formula, definition, twelve-month table and two combo charts – MTD Trend for Design-to-Shelf Lead Time and YTD Trend for Design-to-Shelf Lead Time in the sample – all redraw together.
  • A KPI Analysis page that ranks the year. Achievement rolled up by group with an Average YTD Achievement by KPI Group bar chart, plus Top 5 and Bottom 5 KPIs on YTD achievement.
  • Add KPIs without touching a formula. The sheets are wired for 22 KPI rows; 13 are filled in and the rest are live and empty. Type a new KPI on KPI Definition and it flows into the three input sheets, the scorecard, the trend page and the analysis page.
  • Re-base the year in one cell. Cell E3 on KPI Input – Actual is the first month of the reporting year; change it and the target sheet, the prior-year sheet, the month dropdown and every sheet title follow.
  • Opens and just works. VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX and COUNTIF only. Excel 2013 and later, and Excel for the web.

What’s Inside the Fast Fashion Brands KPI Dashboard in Excel

Eleven sheets, ten of them shown in the gallery above:

  • KPI Analysis – performance by KPI group, a group bar chart, and the Top 5 / Bottom 5 tables.
  • KPI Input – Actual, KPI Input – Target, KPI Input – PY – the only three sheets you normally type in, each with an MTD and a YTD column for every month.

  • Read Me – how the workbook is wired, in plain English.

Who This Template Is For – and Who It’s Not For

It is for merchandising and buying teams at apparel brands and multi-store retailers who already have the monthly numbers somewhere and want one page a leadership meeting can read; planners who report sell-through, markdown and weeks of supply every month; brand founders and category managers who want a scorecard without a BI project; and anyone who has to explain why a cost or lead-time KPI beating its target is a good result, not a red cell.

It is not for anyone who needs a live feed from a POS, PLM or ERP system – this workbook has no connectors and you enter monthly figures yourself. It is not a transaction-level tool: there is no SKU list, no order table and no store ledger, only monthly KPI values. And it does not audit, verify or certify anything – see the FAQs below.

How to Use the Fast Fashion Brands KPI Dashboard in Excel

  1. Open the workbook. It is already filled with a full twelve months of sample data so you can see how everything behaves before you touch it.
  2. On KPI Definition, rename, add or clear KPIs so the list matches how your brand actually reports. Set the unit, the UTB/LTB type and the owner while you are there.
  3. Set cell E3 on KPI Input – Actual to the first month of your reporting year. Everything else re-bases.
  4. Replace the sample numbers on KPI Input – Actual, KPI Input – Target and KPI Input – PY. Each month has an MTD and a YTD column, so you keep control of whether a KPI accumulates or averages.
  5. Go to KPI Dashboard, pick your month, and read the scorecard. Adjust the 100% / 95% thresholds in columns L and U if your governance uses different bands.
  6. Use KPI Trend for the one KPI somebody is arguing about, and KPI Analysis for the group roll-up and the top and bottom five.

Real-World Use Cases

Priya, Merchandise Planning Lead at a 40-door high-street brand. Her Monday pack used to be four spreadsheets. She now types twelve numbers a month and opens one page: Full-Price Sell-Through at 91.7% of target for the month and Markdown Rate at 91.9% tell the buying meeting exactly where the margin went, before anyone opens a second file.

Daniel, Head of Supply Chain at a fast-turn online label. Supplier On-Time Delivery sits at 96.8% of target for the year and shows amber, which is the whole point – it is not a failure yet, and it is the reason Weeks of Supply is the worst KPI on the board at 92.1%. He uses the KPI Trend page to show the month-by-month shape when he renegotiates lead times.

Amara, brand founder. She tracks nine of the thirteen KPIs and deletes the rest, then adds two of her own on KPI Definition without writing a formula. Her investor update is a screenshot of one sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this template measure, verify or certify our sustainability, ESG or ethical-sourcing performance?

No. This is a reporting and scorecard template only. It does not measure, verify, audit or certify sustainability, ESG, carbon, water or waste performance; it does not audit supply chains or factories; it does not verify labour conditions, wages or modern-slavery compliance; and it does not satisfy any due-diligence, supply-chain-transparency or green-claims regulation. The sample workbook includes a KPI called “Sustainable Materials Share” – that is simply a percentage you type in from your own records, exactly like every other number in the file. The workbook performs no checking of it whatsoever, and nothing in it substitutes for legal, ESG or assurance advice.

Is this the same as your Fashion Boutiques or Fashion & Apparel analytical dashboards?

No. Those are analytical dashboards built on a transaction table with slicers and charts. This is the month-picker KPI scorecard line: a fixed set of KPIs, monthly actual vs target vs prior year, traffic lights, a trend page and an analysis page. Many customers own one of each because they answer different questions.

How many KPIs does it hold?

Thirteen are filled in and the sheets are wired for 22 rows, so you can add nine more without editing a formula. Beyond 22, the Read Me explains the two ranges to widen.

Do I need Power Query, Power Pivot or macros?

No. It is 100% worksheet formulas. There is no data model, no query to refresh and no macro prompt.

Can I change the KPI names, owners and targets?

Yes. KPI Definition is the master list and every other sheet reads from it. Rename a KPI there and the input sheets, the scorecard, the trend dropdown and the analysis page all update.

Does it connect to my POS, PLM or ERP?

No. You enter or paste monthly figures. That is deliberate – it is what keeps the file portable and readable.

What currency does it use?

The sample Average Unit Retail is shown in USD. Change the cell format to your own currency; no formula depends on it.
