It is for you if: you run or manage an asphalt paving, road-surfacing or overlay contracting business and you already know your monthly tonnage, square yards, density-core pass rate, cost per ton and TRIR — but they live in four different places and nobody sees them together. It suits an owner, a general manager, a paving superintendent or a controller who wants a one-page monthly review a foreman can read in thirty seconds, and who would rather own a spreadsheet than rent a platform. It is also a good fit if your crew already lives in Google Workspace and you want the report shareable by link.

It is not for you if: you need job costing pulled automatically out of your accounting system, GPS or telematics feeds from pavers and rollers, daily crew dispatch, estimating and bid management, or certified payroll. The monthly ops review. A paving company closes September, enters the month’s tonnage, square yards, density results, costs and incident hours, picks September in the dropdown and walks into the review with one page: how many KPIs are on target for the year, which ones are missed, and how the month compares to the same month last year.

Chasing a quality problem. Rework Rate shows red on the scorecard. The QC Manager opens KPI Trend, selects Rework Rate, and sees whether the month is an outlier against the twelve-month line or the continuation of a slide that started in the spring — and whether Compaction Density Compliance moved with it.

Defending a bid margin. The estimator watches Average Cost Per Ton and Cost Per Square Yard as lower-the-better KPIs against target, with Gross Profit Margin beside them, so a creeping placed cost is visible months before it shows up as a thin year.

Fleet and crew utilisation. Equipment Utilization and Crew Productivity sit in the same view as tonnage, so an owner can tell the difference between “we paved less” and “we paved less per available machine hour”.

A safety conversation with evidence. Safety Incident Rate (TRIR) is scored as lower-the-better against a target, with a prior-year comparison, so the safety director can show direction rather than argue about a single incident.
