Review targets and definitions together
The Target and Actual sheets cover monthly values, while the definition table records the formula, plain-language meaning, type, owner, and priority for every measure. Keeping these elements together helps reviewers distinguish a real performance change from a definition, unit, or target change. If your organization uses different calculations, update the data model carefully and document the revision.
Before presenting the scorecard, sample-check several MTD and YTD calculations, confirm the selected month, and make sure lower-is-better measures are being interpreted correctly. Record any exclusions, late submissions, or restatements so stakeholders understand the reporting basis. Operational action should always return to the qualified people and source systems responsible for the elevators.
